Sadie Clarke

Centre Manager

I love working with such a supportive team who all want the best for each other and champion each other. I love supporting the children’s families and feel privileged to be part of their journey and see the children flourish.

Throughout my career in mainstream nurseries I had lots of experience supporting children with SEND. From this I developed a passion for supporting children to make progress, working together with professionals to give all children the best start in their early years.

Training is ongoing at Peter Pan. PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) training was fantastic, not only the training itself which helped me to understand in detail the different phases (PECS takes a systematic approach to communication development), but also to see the difference it makes to the children themselves.
Sensory Integration has been a huge asset to my learning, understanding children’s needs and how best to support them. This has transformed my practice and consequently the practice in the centre. Likewise Attention Autism has been transformative and we now use ‘bucket time’ in every session. During bucket time, the children are provided with motivating and visually exciting experiences that encourage them to focus their attention for extended periods of time and to take part in an adult-led group activity. It is so good to see the children making progress and the wonder of Bucket Time!
