Devoted to life-changing care and education for children with special needs and the support their families deserve

We are a children’s charity based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire and we support children with special educational needs and disabilities, right from the moment they are born until they start school.

About us

Founded in 1969 as a playgroup for children with disabilities, and unique across Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire, no other charity does what we do in our region. We transform the lives of children with special educational needs, and their families.
Through weekly bespoke Education, Care and Development sessions at our specialist development centre in Newcastle, we support children to grow and develop, from building confidence to socialising, and from taking steps unaided to gaining communication skills. Each of our children has different needs and abilities and is encouraged at every stage by our caring and dedicated team of expert practitioners. Our sessions aim to give every child the best early support to enable them to continue their journey into education. Parent carers are free to enjoy much-needed respite whilst their children are in our care.
Our Peter Pan Stay and Play groups in Newcastle and Burslem are relaxed and friendly sessions for under-5’s, where we share ideas and activities parent carers can try at home, provide support and advice on a range of issues and offer a chance for parent carers to meet other families.
At Peter Pan we support the whole family. We help in lots of ways, from training courses for parents, social activities, support at meetings and school visits, help with application forms, wellbeing and support with child development, sleep, behaviour, eating and more.
