Today we welcomed Trustees from The Olwen McPherson Trust to the Centre, as they presented us with a cheque to enable us to purchase additional equipment items from our ‘wish list’, such items as:
- Specialist chairs that are perfect for postural support, enabling children to engage in fine motor activities and they help to build a child’s attention skills.
- Standing frames which are used with children who have physical disabilities and delays with mobility as they are beneficial to the child as they provide opportunities to have a different view on the world, promote good posture and hip development and preventing issues with lowered bone density.
- Mirrored Play Tray Mat Mirrors which are perfect for helping to promote a child’s self-awareness and self-esteem.
It was great to be able to thank them in person (socially distanced) and explain how the additional equipment will benefit the children at the Centre.
