We wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our fantastic parents, old and new, and our supporters who have put in a mammoth effort to fund-raise for us this year.
We are in awe of your efforts – but we are going to be cheeky and ask if we can make one last demand on you this Christmas.
Could you ‘add another present’ to your list, and make a donation to our centre?
It has been a particularly tough year for fund-raising, with so many different organisations s chasing the grants available to charities like ours, which has left us £40,000 short of the £270,000 we must raise each year in order to be able to offer our unique services.
Chrissie, our fundraising manager, has asked if our supporters could think of the money they donate as being another ‘present’ on their list, or to maybe consider not sending Christmas cards this year, and donate the money from that instead.
She stressed that a cash donation, whatever size, will help make a difference this Christmas.
“We know how expensive Christmas is for everyone, and are continually amazed by the generosity of our local community,” she said. “This Christmas, our special appeal is for people to add an extra ‘gift’ to the list of those you are buying – and then send us the money. There’s lots of easy ways to donate, and every donation no matter how large or small helps make a difference to our centre.
“Whatever you can give is much appreciated. A fiver, £10, £20 – every single penny helps. It could go towards the £25 it costs for every hour a child spends with one of our trained practitioners. In that hour, imagine, that child could take their first steps, say a word, feed themselves for the first time. Please help our staff to continue to do the amazing things they do!
“Or perhaps you’d consider not buying Christmas cards this year and giving the money to the centre instead? We can even provide branded posters to companies, allowing people to write messages to each other rather than send cards – it’s more friendly to the environment too!
Please see our Get Involved page for the many different ways to donate.
Thank you, and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!
